Are you interested in seeing Azure Virtual Desktop in action on a personal device?

We wanted to give an insight into Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) and how it can deliver collaboration, communication and facilitate a seamless working experience with access to files and applications via a personal laptop or PC.

As you can see in the video, I’m working from home and using my personal family PC – as you can imagine it’s not the best of places to store your corporate data, especially if  you’re working from a shared household PC. These personal devices wouldn’t be managed securely, as an enterprise device would, so it’s key to keep business data separate. This is what makes AVD so useful!

In the video below you can see the full desktop experience which takes the user away from their personal desktop to a completely separate, managed corporate desktop. WVD doesn’t have access to your local device and drives, and your personal PC doesn’t have access to any corporate files or data – information cannot be transferred between the two desktops.

Watch the short demo video below…

As you’ve seen in the demo I have full access to my files to continue working on projects, but most importantly you can see how I can easily communicate with my team and share files exactly as I would using a corporate device. Using AVD, teams are able to very quickly share documents, screen share, call each other securely and work on their own files using this desktop experience – all whilst keeping it separate from the personal device.

This is demonstrating the capabilities in an environment that is not fully optimised, so it simply shows you the baseline standard we can quickly deploy, before adding on any further optimisations available from Microsoft.
