Wanted: Backup & Infrastructure Engineer

To support innovation and growth within our Service Operations team, we are looking for a Backup & Infrastructure Engineer to deliver our backup and recovery services to customers. In this role, you’ll have lots of variety, delivering a combination of ongoing managed services and shorter professional services engagements, covering everything from installation, deployment and configuration of new services, to monitoring and reporting on ongoing services, and providing support for escalated tickets. You’ll also be able to drive service improvements, delivering monthly technical reviews for managed service customers, and keeping a roadmap for our backup and recovery service under constant review.

Who does a job like this?

You’ll have proven technical experience at 3rd line level, and need to have worked in an enterprise organisation environment. You will of course need in depth, hands-on understanding of backup and recovery technologies – if you’ve worked with ArcServe, that’s great, if you happen to be an ArcServe Certified Technical Consultant, even better! You’ll probably have experience of supporting a range of different physical and virtual network infrastructures, with practical server management and troubleshooting experience. You’ll also get the link between backup & recovery and wider business dependencies, and how it contributes to disaster recovery scenarios, and be comfortable discussing this.

Our office is in Escrick, just outside York – as you might expect, we’re fully equipped to allow for remote working, and can support home-based working, a hybrid model, or a fully office-based role for those who want it. Whichever you choose, the technical team meets face to face once a month, usually in York, for training, collaboration and planning, an important part of keeping our team relationships strong.
